Sounds tops to me

Featured in AlltopOh yeah! Random Mumblings has been added to the journalism section of Web startup aggregator alltop. Hanging with some of my favs in the journalism area.

Alltop is a project of Nononina, Inc., which does another site I like, Truemors.

Nononina CEO Guy Kawasaki told Forbes:

"Alltop is an 'online magazine rack' that displays the news from the top publications and blogs. Our goal is to satisfy the information needs of the 99% of Internet users who will never use an RSS feed reader or create a custom home page. Think of it as aggregation without the aggravation."
Ah, I think that means it's pretty cool.

In addition to well known blogger, venture capitalist and former Apple exec Kawasaki, Nononina is Will Mayall amd Kathryn Henkens.

Check it out; they have good taste. I'm sure of it.

Congrats Jack! Don't forget, you're also featured on Knoxd.com. ;-)

Yeah, it's working. In my rolling 30-day Google Analytics stats, Knoxd.com currently ranks 17th in referring domains. Not bad. It hasn't been launched a month yet, has it?

It's an interesting experiment.

Nice work to both of you!

(either this is a repeat comment or comments fail when typekey is used...do you moderate comments?)

Good work to the both of you!

Typekey and OpenID comments should get posted without my approval, but not immediately. They should show up after five minutes. They are queued up and a cron job handles 'em. All others are held for moderation.

Could have been a hiccup. When I did that the typekey comment just returned to the form without a confirmation that anything had happened to the comment (just looked like the form cleared). The openid attempt resulted in a note "Thank you for commenting. Comment held for moderation." which is the behavior I expected.

Those darn Internets. Always acting up!

Jack, Knoxd.com has been live for 3 weeks as of today. So far, we've had over 3,000 pageviews coming from 581 unique visitors. I'm glad to hear it's paying off for you. As you stated in another post above, people still want the news, they just don't want it pushed on them. With Knox'd, we tailor Knoxville news into buckets so that people can pick and choose their own news destination.

And it may be working. It comes up fairly high on referring domains to this site. It will be interesting to see how it grows and evolves.
