Jack, it would seem to me that this would have a better and more immediate effect at our state level. The current deluge of coal industry sponsored anti-environmental legislation is prime evidence. Most of the amendments are invisible until voted upon, and even then the legislation is incomprehensible as a stand alone. We should demand our legislators publish the full language of affected legislation, rather than the snippets which look something like... "Not" shall be deleted from the sentence "Thy shalt not" in the comandment against bearing false witness.

Of course if you really want to use a good example at the federal level, you should use the Patriot Act and not the Stimulus Bill.

You bring up a great issue. I would certainly like to see it at both levels. Tennessee legislation often smells of backroom cigar smoke!
